Inara Manaunchhe Deepawali

A Nepali and English Rhyme for Little Children

इनारा मनाउँछे दीपावली is a small rhyme for small children.

On every page two more people in the family get the house ready for Diwali. Didi arranges the tray of lamps, Bhai lights the sparklers, Aama fills a bowl of kheer, Buba hangs the lights, Kaki hands round the laddu. And every time, Inara celebrates Diwali with two more of them.

Every page has three lines. One in Nepali. One in English letters, so you can read it out loud even if you do not read Devanagari. One in English, so you know what it means.

It is written for children who are growing up far from home, and for the people who put them to sleep at night.
